I wanted to share this amazing submission to the Breast Cancer Mermaid Art Project being created out of clay by Master Clay Artist, Alicia Lowe from Coastal Art Gallery in Crystal River, FL where you can see more of her work and take some home with you too!
Alicia shared the beginning steps with us on how she's creating this astonishing piece to submit for the Breast Cancer Mermaid™ Art Project. Can you see the detail that's going into each stage of the process? Check out the tail....it goes from plan to textured. Can you imagine what this mermaid sees in the mirror when she looks at herself? Did she undergo breast surgery and perhaps is reviewing the many scars that were left behind? Or is she looking one last time before her body is altered because of this disease? There are so many possibilities to consider; only the artist creating her knows.
I can't wait to see this piece when it's finally completed. You will have to join us for the Cinco de Mayo Weekend Health Expo on Saturday May 4th at Hernando Park in Brooksville where we will be hosting the Breast Cancer Mermaid Art Project Exhibition to see the final rendition of what is guaranteed to be an astonishing pottery depiction of a Breast Cancer Mermaid™.
