A Moment of Remembrance
Today, I spent a fun day with my sister who came down to
visit for the New Year. We took a moment to drive down to Hernando Beach and
visit the Breast Cancer Mermaid Mural located at 4036 Shoal Lane-on the front
wall of the Silver Dolphin Restaurant. She added our mother's name to the
banner which hangs along the right-hand side of the wall. Our mom died of breast
cancer related complications in 1999. We invite anyone with breast cancer to
add their name to the Breast Cancer Mermaid Mural Banner or that of a loved one
with this disease -- living or not. This Breast Cancer Mermaid Mural is the first of it's kind in the world. It honors the
strength and courage displayed by women--and men--with this disease.
If you're in the Hernando Beach area, stop by, take a photo and sign your name to our wall. If you're not in Florida, we can add your name or that of a loved one with breast cancer for a donation of $25 or more. Your tax-deductible donation will help Cancer Tamer fund various project including our next Breast Cancer Mermaid Mural. Maybe, we'll be able to place one in your hometown in the months to come. Use the hashtag #breastcancermermaid & #cancertamer when you post your photo to social media, and you'll be entered to win a prize.
