A Day with the Citrus Writers
I had the pleasure of speaking before Citrus Writers and their members on Valentin’s Day. It was such fun to discuss a bit about myself and most of all my writing career. Can you believe my first book, The W.I.S.E. Journal for the Sensual Woman won Best Self-Help Book in 2002. I wrote it as part of my doctoral thesis to help women embrace their sensuality. Through the years, I’ve written eighteen other books, the most recent in 2019 was the play, Breast Cancer Diaries which won two awards in 2023; first place in Regionals for Best Drama and Second Place in Nationals for Best Short Script. I’m currently writing my next book, Breast Cancer 101—What you should know but aren’t told. I hope to have it released by October 2024.
What a wonderful Valentine’s Day treat speaking at Citrus Writers’ monthly meeting. It has such wonderful members that are very welcoming. Their motto is, “Authors Helping Authors.” You don’t have to be published to join.
I also want to share that Citrus Writers will be joining us for our Cinco de Mayo Weekend Health Expo and will provide some valuable tidbits on how to get started writing in various genres. Plus, many of their authors will be available to sign autographs and provide personal insights into writing. Some have even agreed to read a few passages from their latest books.
