RUMC Breast Cancer Center
Today we had the pleasure of meeting the CEO as well as physicians and staff of the RUMC Breast Cancer Center on 1161 Victory Blvd in Staten Island where we donated fifty (50) lymphedema pillows to be provided to women (and men) at their clinic who underwent breast cancer surgery. The pillows were made by our volunteers and Camille Fraiser of Camille’s Creations.
“We are so grateful to Dr. Ferrer and her volunteers for thinking of our patients with this generous act of kindness,” Dr. Messina said. “Staten Island has the highest rate of new cancer cases in New York City and female breast cancer accounts for over 13 percent of all cancer cases on Staten Island. These pillows will be put to good use as we help men and women in their battles against this dreadful disease.”
Cancer Tamer looks forward to collaborating with RUMC Breast Cancer Center in other ventures in the future and providing additional lymphedema pillows when needed.
If you would like to volunteer to sew pillows or donate to help us purchase fabric and stuffing to make the pillows. Please use this link to make your tax deductible donations.
