Accomplishment Jar
Last year I started an ACCOMPLISHMENT JAR. This is where I placed a small note into the jar for all the fun things I did or successes I had; like celebrating I was cancer FREE with a trip to Amsterdam or dropping in the ticket stub for the Broadway Shows King Kong and Bat Out of Hell.
As I sat there opening each little scrap of paper, I experienced the thrill of each event once more. I recalled all the fun I had in Amsterdam going to the museums and yep, had to go to the Red Light District (which wasn’t all that interesting …laughs…) maybe because I’m 58 years old and that “thrill” is for the young. I did love exploring the Vincent Van Gogh and Rembrandt museums as well as

touring other museums in Belgium and of course the windmills.
I felt awed when I went to the Anne Frank museum and visited the place where her and her family (and others) lived in hiding during the Nazi occupation. And I was heart broken when I looked out the window of the little room and imagined how soul crushing it must have been to see the beauty of the canal just a few feet away and not be able to step outside and enjoy it because you feared being discovered.

Those little notes also reminded me of my accomplishments, like the play I wrote, Breast Cancer Diaries and the new book series I published: Breast Cancer Diaries Journal Book and Inspiration Thoughts, Comments and Ideas.
And so many other wonderful accomplishments, like spending time with friends and going to various workshops and just eating healthier. And even more that I forgot to write down. (I’ll make a bigger effect to do so this year.)
I placed all those little notes in an envelop to have them handy; to be able to revisit the thrill whenever I want to feel great about myself, my life, and my accomplishments.
I’ve already started my Accomplishment Jar for 2020 and have six little notes in it. My goal is to fill my Accomplishment Jar to the brim. What will you put in yours?
PS: I’m going to decorate my jar with a few pretty pictures as well. Send us a picture of your Accomplishment Jar and share with us some of your thrills. We look forward to hearing from you anytime.
